Jeremiah

Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet they not pass over it? But this people hath a revolting and rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

- Jeremiah 5:22, 23

I've been studying through Jeremiah the last few weeks and this morning as I read through chapter 5 these verses stood out.

It is so amazing how that all of God's creation... apart from man, obey the boundaries He has ordained. Even the seas obey, but we His people are so quick to go astray.
A wonderful and horrible things is committed in the land; the prophets prophecy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will you do in the end thereof?

- Jeremiah 5:30, 31
