Remember that the LORD rescued you from the burning furnace of Egypt to become his own people and special possession; that is what you are today.
Remember; it is a word the LORD often exhorts us to exercise.
From Genesis, right on through to Revelation, over and over again, HE reminds us to remember. Remember where you came from, and from or out of what He has delivered you. To what and how. HE is a great and awesome GOD; faithful, loving, mighty awesome, dreadful and good.
How great is the love of God, that we should be called children of God.
It is easy to think that God has saved us for our benefit and blessing, indeed His mercies toward us are indeed a benefit and blessing; however His motive is much deeper and more glorious than our pleasure, prosperity: MITZVAH....
If we could be only get our eyes off of ourselves; our momentary and trivial situations, and allow our gaze to be utterly fixed and fastened upon HIM. Oh the joy unspeakable we can know, even here and now, when our hearts, minds, souls and strengths are captivated by the Savior. We can feast on Him as we devour His wonderful word. We can love Him ever deeper as we worship Him in the beauty of His holiness. I long for Him, as one who wanders in a dry and thirsty land, where there is no water. Jesus Christ is the living water, springing up unto everlasting life. HE satisifys in such a way, that one never thirsts again in the same way. Oh taste and see, the LORD is good. Seek His face, cry out to Him, for all that HE longs to lavish upon you.
"Remember that the LORD rescued you from the burning furnace of Egypt to become his own people and special possession; that is what you are today."
