Evil Good & Good Evil
Perhaps you read in the news the story of the 11-year-old murder suspect that is set to stand trial in Philadelphia. As I was reading the story this evening the last two paragraphs stood out to me.
I do understand what Ms. Papernow is saying, but I just cannot see any normalcy in this story.
Patricia Papernow, a psychologist from Hudson, Mass., and expert on blended families, said tensions from combining families, as Brown's father and Houk were doing, were "pretty normal in a new stepfamily."
"It looks awful from the outside and sort of unspeakable, but these are the kinds of feelings that are pretty normal in a new stepfamily," Papernow said. "You just hope there's not a loaded gun around."

recovery.gov
So I happened upon the site that the White House put together to ensure openness and accountability with the $787 Billion they've been given to 'fix' the economy, and as I was looking through the site I came upon this great diagram...

Question... what is "Protecting the Vulnerable" and why are we spending $81 billion on it?

6 Principles of Giving
Some have asked about this from last weekend's message...
Paul’s directions are that the church must discern who the truly needy are (1 Timothy 5:3). If one can work to support himself, he is not truly needy and must provide for his own needs (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12, 1 Timothy 5:8, 1 Thessalonians 4:11). If family can support a needy person, the church should not support them (1 Timothy 5:3-4). Those who are supported by the church must make some return to the church body (1 Timothy 5:5, 10). It is right for the church to examine moral conduct before giving support (1 Timothy 5:9-13). And the support of the church should be for the most basic necessities of living (1 Timothy 6:8).

lots of problems...
The switchover to a new server for my site has hit some snags, and during a time I've had lots of different things I've wanted to say! Hopefully we're moving in the right direction, I have a feeling that we are.
Meanwhile, if interested there is a lot of new content at lineuponline.com as well as ccesco.com... and if things workout correctly there should be some new content here as well.
